I started practicing yoga at a young age thanks to my hippie dad who is also one of my greatest inspirations in life. Through the physical and mental practice of yoga I aim to inspire students to make full contact with every moment in their practice and life and to connect with their bodies and minds – listening to their inner voice to discover their authentic selves. I am currently pursuing my Holistic Health Coach certification through Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
I strongly believe in the power of yoga in ANYONE & EVERYONE’s lives! #IfWeAllDidYogaThereMightBeWorldPeace
Growing and strengthening spiritually and physically were my goals when I made the commitment to embark on the Yoga Teacher Training in the spring of 2011. Having practiced asana since 2005, I was ready for more of what yoga offers. What was accomplished through the 200-hour training was infinitely more than I had ever anticipated. I ventured on a journey that brought not only greater strength and spirituality, but also insight and joy. It is exciting to share this practice and process with others as we all grow together in our community of love.
My journey to the mat began not too long ago. My first yoga class was a challenge. Here I am, 5 years later, teaching yoga and loving every minute of it. I am a Certified athletic trainer working for The Georgetown Hospital System at a local high school in Pawleys Island. I teach a wide variety of classes because my training is in Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Iyengar. I wear a bracelet that you might hear clinking when we practice. It’s stamped with two phrases. The first is “Life is a Journey, not a destination” and the second is “the world is at my fingertips.” These two quotes help me bring everything back to perspective. Where you are is right where you need to be.
Needing to find a new path for myself, while out & about one day I walked into a yoga studio for the very first time and found a place that was there for me in so many ways. A place that I could also give to as well. It didn’t take much before I was looking to become more involved in sharing this wonderfulness with others and received my teaching certification in the Spring of 2011. Yoga is so much more than an exercise class. You gain so much more than just strength in your physical self; you gain strength in your emotional self, too. I am also a strong advocate for the basic Juice Plus products and a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Rather than need to fight for a cure, I try my best to prevent it in the first place through a more holistically based, Ayurvedic-type of lifestyle. I look forward to our energies meeting in person!
