FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Faces & New Winter Schedule at Island Wave Yoga – In Pawleys Island, SC Pawleys Island, SC, January 12, 2012 – Island Wave Yoga is pleased to announce the addition of three yoga teachers to their roster and a new winter schedule that includes classes on Sundays. Audra Stanley, Angie Loyd and Isabelle Boyd will be joining the current list of yoga teachers, bringing a variety of styles and unique experiences to the studio.
Audra, a dual resident of Murrells Inlet and Charleston, has been practicing yoga since she was 16. Her vivacious energy spills over into her yoga classes. Audra divides her time between teaching at Island Wave Yoga and Charleston Power Yoga.
Angie, a resident of Murrells Inlet, has practiced yoga from coast to coast. What started as a physical practice evolved into something deeper over the years, leading her to teacher training. She brings smiles and great hands on understanding of the needs of students.
Isabelle, a resident of Pawleys Island and owner of Cassena Spa, has been practicing yoga since 1992. Her deep personal connection to yoga, and love of healing others via therapies at her spa, led her naturally to yoga teacher training.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Winter Schedule, Sunday Yoga Classes, Special Yoga Series at Island Wave Yoga In Pawleys Island, SC-January 12, 2012 – Island Wave Yoga will begin new a winter schedule the week of January 15th to accommodate the needs of current and future students. Additionally, Sunday yoga classes and special series are part of the new schedule.
The new schedule will incorporate classes such as Yoga for All Athletes using specific poses to help you build strength as well as recover from injuries. This class takes into consideration the core sports of the area, golf, tennis, paddling, swimming and surfing.
Yin Yoga is a new regular offering that is a perfect all levels yoga class to complement any life. The series options include a parent’s vinyasa, where the parents can enjoy a yoga class while the kids do a craft.
The Yoga Boot Camp series has been developed to tone, find energy and gain endurance. Previous yoga experience is not necessary.
“ We’ve been open for about 7 months now and have had an chance to understand more about the needs of the community. The addition of Sundays allows people, who may not have a chance to visit during the week, an added day to take a yoga class at the studio,” said co-founder and yoga instructor Whitney Messervy. “The new schedule reflects this deeper understanding of our growing yoga community. Besides new class options, we’ll be hosting various series that allow moms to practice, an all levels moving meditation, and a 12-week yoga boot camp.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Yoga Studio To Open In Pawleys Island, SC Pawleys Island, SC, May 19, 2011 – Island Wave Yoga is coming to Pawleys Island, SC. Island Wave Yoga will open its doors this Saturday, May 21st with a day of FREE classes, food, giveaways, and membership and retail specials. The celebration will continue on Sunday, May 22nd.
This Saturday, May 21st, opening day will start at 9:30 am with light breakfast and run throughout the day with free yoga classes, lunch and wrap up at 3:00 pm with a reception. The grand opening celebration will continue Sunday, May 22nd at 1:00 pm with two free classes and a light reception at 3:00 pm. Prizes will be given both days and consist of Island Wave Yoga t-shirts, class passes, and the grand prize package consisting of a one month unlimited pass, a t-shirt and retail coupon. Additionally, semi-annual and annual membership discounts will be offered throughout the week.
Island Wave Yoga is the only dedicated yoga studio in Pawleys Island and is located at 10555-A Ocean Hwy 17 at Waverly Place. Island Wave Yoga seeks to fill a need for a yoga space on the south end of the Grand Strand. The yoga studio’s class offerings consist of: Vinayasa, Power Yoga, Community Classes, Family Fun, Prenatal, Restorative, Beginners, and special workshops, events and retreats throughout the year. Island Wave Yoga offers classes Monday through Saturday for all levels and ages.
Class rates have been structured to be flexible to meet the needs of the students, with semi-annual and annual packages, monthly class passes, series passes, and senior and student rates. There is a one-week unlimited for new students who are residents of Horry & Georgetown county for $25. Island Wave instructors are available for private sessions, group and corporate packages.
The studio has a retail space and will carry yoga mats, books, magazines and jewelry. PrAna, a popular quality line of active wear, will also be carried and includes yoga and casual clothes, and accessories. “Our goal is to create a community and haven for those seeking to increase their physical and mental health,” said Jodi Ryba, teacher and owner of Island Wave Yoga. “We would love to have everyone who has a regular yoga practice join us. And would really love for those who have never stepped foot on a yoga mat to come by and try us out. Our class offerings have been carefully thought out to have something for all levels.”
